Settled as early as the Neolithic era until the 5th century A.D., it is beyond doubt that this is the
land that gave birth to the first civilization of Europe, the Minoans.
The Palace of Knossos surrounds the large Central Court. You will reach the awe inspiring
Throne Room, the fresco of the "Prince of Lillies", the imposing Grand Staircase, and the Queens Megaron in the east.
Next stop will be at Archaeological Museum of the city. Τhe only museum in Europe and in the world with such a large Minoan collection. Τhis is where the first European culture begins.
