SAMARIA GORGE

What you'll do

Join us on a coach ride through western Crete's heartland to reach the famous Omalos Plateau, surrounded by the magnificent Lefka Ori (White Mountains). From there, just 38km away from Chania, at an altitude of 1250 meters, you'll find Xyloskalo (wooden step), where the path leading to the world-renowned Samaria Gorge begins. A hike through the Samaria Gorge, the longest gorge in Europe (approximately 5 hours of hiking), is an unforgettable experience of Crete's untouched natural beauty. This national park, home to rare fauna and flora, is protected for its conservation. The gorge leads to Agia Roumeli, a charming fishing village, where you can swim and indulge in local delicacies at one of the traditional tavernas. In the afternoon, board a boat along the south coast to Chora Sfakion before returning to your hotel by bus.
